Congratulation to Swetha Barkam and Kazi Tasneem who have been selected for the Frank Hubbard Engineering Endowed Scholarship for 2016-2017. The scholarship amount is $1,000 over two semesters.

Qualifications for the scholarship are full-time status as a graduate or undergraduate student in engineering, and a minimum 3.0 G.P.A. Extracurricular activities and community service activities were taken into consideration when selecting scholarship candidates.

Kazi Tasneem also won the Presentation Fellowship from the College of Graduate Studies for 2015.

The Presentation Fellowship provides funding for enrolled master’s, specialist, and doctoral students to share their research at a professional meeting. Students must be the primary author and presenter. The award amounts to $300 In-state, $500 United States (including Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and Alaska), Canada, or Mexico, or $800 International.

Barkam is a Ph.D. student in Sudipta Seal’s Lab and Tasneem is a Ph.D. student in James Hickman’s lab.
