Debashis Chanda is a winner of UCF’s 2016-2017 Research Incentive Awards. The UCF RIA program honors faculty whose research has substantially contributed to a body of knowledge or significantly influenced a field of study.
Chanda is an Assistant Professor with joint appointments with NanoScience Technology Center and College of Optics and Photonics (CREOL). His research focuses on thin-film solar cells, study of light-matter interactions in artificially structured metal/dielectric structures (metamaterials, plasmonic nanostructures), transformation optics for display/camouflage, printed optics/opto-electronics components, strong coupling between photonic and plasmonic resonances, biological/chemical sensors.
