Dr. James J. Hickman has been appointed to the Bioengineering of Neuroscience, Vision and Low Vision Technologies Study Section at the Center for Scientific Review, National Institutes of Health.
The BNVT study section reviews applications to develop and utilize bioengineering, materials engineering, and computational approaches for studying fundamental problems in neuroscience. While the multidisciplinary nature of BNVT covers a wide range of technologies, the central theme is a neuroscience context.
Dr. Hickman is a Professor with joint appointments in UCF’s NanoScience Technology Center and Department of Chemistry. His research focuses on hybrid systems for biological computation and fundamental investigations in neuroscience and cell biology.
