Ajay Kale is a winner of the 2014 College of Engineering & Computer Science Distinguished Alumni award.

Kale graduated in 1999 with a Masters in Materials Science & Enginnering. He was recognized at the Fourth Annual UCF College of Engineering & Computer Science Alumni Honors Reception with a presentation by Dr. Sudipta Seal. The awards celebrates distinguished alumni for their remarkable professional contributions and their dedication to CECS and UCF.

Kale is a process technology development group leader at Intel Corporation, the world’s leading semiconductor manufacturer, in Portland, OR. He has worked for Intel for more than ten years, and his area of specialty is lithography/patterning. His group is responsible for the process development and pilot manufacturing of Intel’s newest technology nodes as well as the subsequent process transfer to other Intel factories.

Kale has also led defect metrology teams and operations to achieve record breaking output and yields in a fully loaded factory. He holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Florida.

In 2013, two NanoScience researchers, Christina Drake (Ph.D., ’07) and Vinod Philip (’00) won the CECS Distinguished Alumni Award.
