David Reid, a Ph.D. student in Dr. Sudipta Seal’s research group, has been named a finalist for the 2012 AVS National Student Award for his outstanding contribution in nanotechnology research. He will receive a cash award of $500.
The final competition will occur on October 31, 2013, where David will deliver a 20-minute talk. The overall winner will receive a certificate and an additional $1,000.
This is David’s 2nd AVS award. He previously won the prestigious AVS Graduate Research Award that recognizes and encourages excellence in graduate studies in sciences and technologies of interest to AVS. Approximately ten GRA awards are given annually.
