Swadeshmukul Santra is a winner of the University of Central Florida’s 2015 Excellence in Research award.
Excellence in Research awards are given to each college at UCF. However, only one winner is selected to represent the combined research staff in UCF’s institutes and centers. Dr. Santra will be honored during UCF’s annual Founders’ Day ceremony in April.
Winners are selected based upon several criteria, including the value and impact of their research within the discipline and to society, recognition by their peers, publications and presentations, and external grant and contract support for their research.
Santra has a joint appointment in UCF’s NanoScience Technology Center and Chemistry department with a secondary appointment in Biomedical Sciences. His research focuses on quantum dot nanotechnology, nanomedicine, agricultural biocides, environmental nanotoxicology, and nanofiltration.
