The work of Dr. Sudipta Seal is featured in two major research outlets. A recent grant appears on the National Science Foundation homepage as well as in an article from LiveScience.

In 2010, the National Science Foundation awarded a grant to Sudipta Seal and Larry Hench for their research into oil spill cleanup. Seal and Hench are developing a process for removing oil from seawater using fly ash — a by-product of burning coal. Their grant was one of several that NSF awarded to help with cleanup and environmental protection after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
