Panit Chantharasupawong and Zenan Yu are winners of the 2014-15 UCF Graduate Dean’s Dissertation Completion Fellowship.

Panit and Zenan are both Ph.D. students in the Nano Energy-Photonics Group, led by Dr. Jayan Thomas. Panit Chantharasupawong is a doctoral candidate in the College of Optics and Photonics, and Zenan Yui is a doctoral candidate in Materials Science and Engineering.

The award includes a fellowship stipend of $10,000, tuition coverage, and more to help them complete their dissertation in 2015. Only eleven students were selected for the fellowship.

Dr. Jayan Thomas is an assistant professor in UCF’s NanoScience Technology Center with joint appointments in Materials Science & Engineering and CREOL. His Nano Energy-Photonics Group conducts research focused primarly on Nanostructured Supercapacitors and Li-ion batteries, nanoarchitectured light trapping solar cells, photorefractive polymers for 3D display applications, nonlinear optical materials, plasmonic structures and printed optical and photonic devices.
